Yes, She is my hero!

Jennifer è stata ospite recentemente al The Daily Beast and Newsweek Heroes Summit  in quel di  Washington il 14-15 novembre.  L'evento è stato "un motivo di celebrare tutti quegli eroi militari e civili ricordando con loro le esperienze incredibili della loro vita". Per Jennifer, così lei dice, è stata un’opportunità di imparare qualcosa, e, di "prendere appunti" per il suo personaggio di Wigs visto il rinnovo a una nuova serie episodi del "channel for scripted drama on YouTube" (qualcosa riguardo a questo la trovate in Lauren). La sua, continua, è anche speranza che divenga questo un evento annuale e:

researching your own history, your own country’s history, and try to understand what people have been through and how they’ve had to expand beyond themselves to become helpful to others.

Jennifer for Equality

Jennifer è intervenuta al gala della Campagna per i diritti umani (HRC), tenutasi 20 ottobre presso il Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park. L'attrice è stata premiata per il Ally For Equality Award at the 2012. Lei attivista per diritti umani da sempre, è entrata in una travolgente standing ovation tenendo un discorso articolato e divertente quando ha ritirato il premio.

"It is so important that we all have each other's backs, It is my pleasure to use my voice, heart, and mind to empower the community, and I long for a day when the ally award will be obsolete."

Poi ha ricordato l’aneddoto di quando andò a cena con il marito durante le riprese de Il pilota L Word, e che a un certo punto, si chinò e la baciò.

"I realized then that if we were a gay couple, this event would have been very important… and it hurt my heart, It spoke not only to my sense of otherness, but also to my sense of being marginalized as a woman, because homophobia is, after all, a form of misogyny. And I, for one, will be damned if someone thinks it is somehow elevating to be confined to a binder."

Chi ha paura dell'uomo bianco?

Sembra un un periodo intenso per la carriera di Jeibì segnalata in questi giorni dopo quello western, anche nel cast di un film questo horror dal titolo Figure. Avrà un ruolo che pare abbastanza rincorrente nella sua carriera, di un detective tale  Me’Chale Brown. La storia in breve parla:

un killer mascherato e vestito di bianco,  intenzionato ad uccidere numerosi adolescenti di una piccola città vicino a Detroit, US.

Dopo le esperienze precedenti di Jennifer non proprio felicissime con il genere, confidiamo in quest'ultimo.
