Una torcia ad honorem per Jennifer

Come vi avevo già accennato in qualche  post fa (Intervista a Jennifer), miss Beals è stata premiata per la sua “attività” passata e presente pro comunità LGBT, ad Orange Country ieri sera 5 giugno. Grazie come sempre alle attivissime ragazze di tibette.com, possiamo avere una cronaca dettagliata con fotografie link qui e qui  ed il discorso "illuminante" (torcia, illuminante, non so se avete colto) che Jennifer ha tenuto dopo aver ricevuto il premio (link fondo post). Un discorso in perfetto stile Beals a tratti divertente:

I have learned so much from The L Word. I learned about dental dams, and twinkies. I learned there are more sexual positions on Heaven and Earth than are dreamt up in any straight girl's [can't hear]. Every love scene presented itself to me like a Rubik's Cube. I feel as if I could have an honorary degree in engineering, physics ... I bet you know what I'm talking about.

And I accepted to play the amazing part of Bette Porter in the little lesbian show that could, The L Word. I am, and always will be, deeply indebted to ilene Chaiken for such a tremendous opportunity to explore my inner Alpha. And, I have to say, that it's always been funny to me that so many fans of the show will come up to me and thank me for taking on the role of Bette, as if I'd done them a favor. Or as if I'd taken on some burden of some kind. I mean what they don't realize is that it is I who have received one of the greatest gifts of my professional career by being able to play this part. I am in no way brave; I am just really selfish.

Leggevo in questi giorni pre evento, come delle  fans  si stavano preparando ad esso, e quanto fossero eccitate solo all’idea di vedere e magari parlare con Jeibì. Bè, se succedesse a me, (in cui la percentuale di incontrare Jennifer è giocata 1 a mai), e visto che in situazioni simili, cioè emotivamente iper coinvolta non riesco ad aprir bocca se non per dire frasi disconnesse,  potrebbe accadere invece che, dal mio scarsissimo inglese,  con la troppa carica emotiva, ne uscirebbe una google translator in carne ossa? pfft già magari…  cipz!
