Se le chiedi come ha trascorso la sua vacanza estiva, Jennifer Beals attrice, 48 anni, solo sospira…. Così comincia l’articolo sul sito di  Style Goes Strong  dove, la brunetta ci racconta di un’estate trascorsa in campeggio, correndo per i sentieri e nuotando nelle acque gelide del lago Louise,  imprecando anche il fatto di non avere nessun collegamento ad Internet per seguire le olimpiadi, in particolare il nuoto la sua nuova grande passione. Reduce da un triathlon olimpico di alcuni anni fa, la bionica Beals oltre al jogging che pratica quando può, ha riscoperto, appunto quest’estate, il nuoto:

It's really like all I want to do is go swim, go, swim, go swim. I was like a fanatic looking for the next lake.

Quarant'anni anni portati magnificamente grazie dice anche, una sana vita sportiva, vorrebbe entro i prossimi due anni, partecipare ad una maratona:

I'd love to run a marathon. I'm hoping before I'm 50, I'll run a marathon.

e alla domanda se fosse la maratona di Boston, con una battuta  risponde:

I don't think I could ever qualify for the Boston marathon," she says, laughing. "Like not in a billion years. I don't think I could qualify for the Boston marathon. I would be handing out water at the Boston marathon and half way so.

Riguardo la sua carriera di attrice dice che l'invecchiamento sullo schermo è stata una buona cosa, aggiungendo:

Past a certain age, you are still the keeper of the hearts and the keeper of all the emotional stability in the home. I think that's really changing in terms of storytelling.

For me, the story is always the first and foremost.

Chiude in bellezza e non poteva essere diversamente, rispondendo alla solita domanda che lei è usuale a rappresentare sullo schermo donne forti:

I like the complexity within the characters," she says. "When somebody presents as very strong, but isn't as strong as they appear it's interesting.
